I am a ceramicist working with Raku and Saga Fire techniques from my studio in South East London.

A lifelong passion for ceramics has driven my creative journey. After graduating from Camberwell College of Art, I gained valuable experience in both education and business. As a parent and teacher, I introduced countless students to the joy of pottery. Now, I'm thrilled to be pursuing my passion full-time.

Inspired by the rugged beauty of Australia and New Zealand my recent work explores the textures and colours of the natural landscape. The scorched red earth, the charred trees of the outback and the lush green landscape of New Zealand have influenced the forms and colours of my vessels. While the widespread use of corrugated iron in both countries has inspired the necks of my Saga fired pieces capturing the rust and pattern of weather beaten metal. The necks of my raku fired pieces have been inspired from charred trees ripped and torn to form an organic look.

I construct each piece by hand, building them up using the coiling technique. The necks are crafted from slabs of clay, pressed into moulds that I've created. These unique necks reference both the natural world, with their charred tree-like forms, and the built environment, with their architectural lines.
