Naked Raku

I have been inspired by the Naked Raku works of other ceramists and have begun to fire my own work using this technique. The smoke naturally alters the appearance of the vessels, providing a more organic look than a traditional glaze. The process is exciting and to a degree, unpredictable. My work is influenced by the burnt trees in the Australian landscape, the irregular necks of the vessels echo these shapes, while the corrugated surfaces, are in tune with a past industrial architecture.
